CHARLES TOMARO

Charlie is one of the founding members of the TECMP which was created in 1997 as the Edison Memorial Tower Corporation. He served as a member of the Edison Town Counsel for 13 years, and he is currently a Middlesex County Freeholder. As a Freeholder, Charlie oversees the county infrastructure division, which manages the County Parks, Buildings, and Roads.

Charlie has also served the public as a member of the Edison Chamber of Commerce, Board of Directors (1996-2004), as an active volunteer and member of the Board of Directors of the Hands of Hope Community Food Pantry in Edison. He has been a Committee member and merit badge counselor for Central Jersey Boy Scouts Troop 17 since 2001, where he assisted over 100 scouts in achieving Eagle Scout status.

Charlie helped to secure $600,000 in funding from the county open space tax to help restore the Edison Tower. Charlie is a strong believer in using the whole community to preserve and recognize the important historic sites in our own town.
