Biral patel
Biral Patel is a Councilman of Edison Township and has been a Trustee at the Thomas Edison Center at Menlo Park since September 2022. He holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science and works at a global Fortune 500 organization.
Biral is a former President and Member of the Edison Board of Education, first appointed in January 2021 and elected in November 2021. He is also an elected Democratic County Committeeman from Edison and has previously served as a member of the Edison Township Zoning Board and the Water Utility Advisory Committee.
A dedicated community leader, Biral is the recipient of the President’s Silver and Gold Awards for Volunteering. He is widely recognized for leading volunteer teams during the COVID-19 vaccination drive in 2021, efforts that were formally acknowledged by Edison Township. During the height of the COVID-19 crisis, his community service—including coordinating food distribution, medications, PPE, and other essential support—was recognized by the Middlesex County Government for outstanding relief efforts.
As a senior volunteer with a large global nonprofit organization, Biral regularly participates in and leads charitable initiatives such as walkathons, blood drives, health fairs, and disaster relief efforts. His long-standing commitment to service has earned him multiple accolades for volunteering and community impact. He has also coached and mentored individuals through Dale Carnegie Effective Communications and Human Relations programs.
In addition, Biral serves as a youth basketball coach and coordinator with ETYB, supporting youth development through sports and mentorship.
Biral has earned the Certified Board Member, Master Board Member, and Certified Board Leader certifications from the New Jersey School Boards Association (NJSBA) and is the first individual in Edison Township to achieve all three distinctions.
