BETH MORONEY

Beth is a former English teacher and administrator in the Edison Township Public Schools, from which she thought she had retired in 2013. However, nine months later, she was elected to the Board of Education, thus continuing her long career in education.

A graduate with a B.A. and M.A. from Montclair State University, Beth has dedicated a great deal of time to serving as a writer and public relations consultant to a variety of organizations, including the New Jersey Commission on the Holocaust and the New Jersey Coaches Association. Her contributions to the TECMP are largely in the area of communications. Beth works together with the museum director producing the newsletter put out by the museum, as well as other writing chores deemed necessary.

Most recently, Beth has brought a social/emotional learning program to the school children of New Jersey. Working with Ian Hockley of Sandy Hook, Ct., Beth is mentoring children in how to become inclusive and empathetic to their peers and others. Her hope is that this program will make everyone in society happier, well-adjusted citizens, which in turn will make the world a safer place.
